Mish, have read your blog for years, and I haven't the slightest inclination to "leave SI."

I also read many others letters, blogs, articles, etc. Au contraire, 'readers' have left SI because they were burned in their investments, in the tech bubble (elminated perhaps 75% of the posters I'd WAG). There was undoubtedly some rebuilding of traffic up until the meltdown last year. That, methinks, eliminated another large swatch.

Talk about faulty reasoning. Does that average reader at SI only look for a single opinion?

Not any more. They were erased in '00 and '08.

A simpleminded yet probably accurate way to view readership variations would be to plot page hits versus e.g. the DOW, the S&P, a real estate index, and soon the price of gold. Then maybe it will seem easier to understand.
