It would certainly be in their best interest to allow sales across state borders.

That reminds me. I saw an interesting piece today on a poll of economists on various policy issues. If I had to rely on any group of people for answers, I would tend to prefer economists as they think more like me. So imagine my surprise when the economists did not strongly support reducing the state regulation that so drives up the cost of insurance in so many places. That seems like a no-brainer to me. I can understand politicians not going for it because they have impacted constituencies by economists have no excuse.

The percentages read, from left to right "strongly disagree" to "strongly agree" and the last number is the rank on a scale of 1-5 with "5" equating to "strongly agree."
