i can't read wilson's mind, so i don't know why he voiced his opinion in that manner. could racism have played a part? sure. could it have been a complete non issue? sure.
like the good old boy bushevics, the dems have power and now assume the worst. the truth is, the dems don't know, but they seek political advantage by playing the race card.

my beef with obama is he was lying through his teeth and has lied through his teeth about everything, all the while transferring trillions of wealth from the citizens of this country to his hand picked, well paying buddies.
obama is a lying thief and it has *nothing* to do with his color. it has to do with his constant lying and this his theft of the US treasury. assault? come on! he's carrying on the bushevic destruction of this nation.
most of obama's policies are indistinguishable from bush's policies.

but the republicans as a whole didn't boo obama - that must be because they respect a black man more than the dems respect a white man. extra respect for the black man - but that doesn't provide political advantage.
my advice to anyone complaining about being called a liar is simple - stop lying!
my personal belief is all these lying b*stards ought to be called out. why have respect for the presidency when the government has no respect for the office? they lie, cheat and steal all day long. respect is all about honesty, decency and integrity - and they have none of it.

was wilson in congress when LBJ was president? how about nixon? he probably was in office under bush - in which case my only issue with wilson is that he didn't yell out "you lie" to bush in concert with the democrats booing the white president - obviously for racial reasons, no doubt, and not b/c of his bass ackwards policies.
why do you use the plural? last i heard, wilson was a single entity and only he is responsible for his actions.
my advice to obama is to not lie so that he is less likely to be called a liar. pretty basic stuff.
i just heard today that a congress person took obama up on his offer to go line by line through the health care bill - of course, obama isn't responding. it was all a sound bite lie to trick the people into thinking the bill was actually reasonable and comprehensible. it isn't.
there are two problems with your accusation.
1. it may not reasonably be true. wilson (the person, not all white people across multiple generations) might just be a hot head who mouths off. we do know he went up to the president and APOLOGIZED - and that is MORE consistent with a man who is reactionary and thought the better of it than a man who has no respect for a black man.
you didn't mention his quick apology to the black man - typically a sign of respect once a cooler head prevailed. why didn't you mention the apology to the black man?
did the white racist democrats apologize for booing the white bush (obviously booed b/c of his race, right)?
bush deserved to be booed and obama deserved to be called a liar.
then again, discussing his RESPECTFUL apology doesn't provide political advantage, so not too many dems are talking about his apology to the black president.
2. real racism exists all the time. when penny ante stuff like this gets called out as racism (and well might not be!) and a big deal gets made out of this, it just means that less energy is spent battling the real racism that actually damages decent people.
the real racism goes on undeterred and the penny ante crap, that might not even be true, gets beat to death. that's the cart well ahead of the horse, imho.
