Chas the primary function of humans is communication. We have eyes and ears as our primary cognitive inputs. A cyberphone is an extension of our ears and eyes and is the most important thing people can have.

Watch young people with their phones - the device is not just a toy or fancy gadget, it is an essential component of life itself.

If people had to give up their ears and left arm, or their cyberphones, for life, they would choose to do without their ears and left arm [I mean their actual hearing, not just a Van Gogh cutting of the outside].

<Most of these people/villages don't even have running water or electricity....why do they need cell phones...???>

A photovoltaic panel can charge a cyberphone. Running water is nice, but walking to a well is okay. One can chat on the cyberphone and check the S&P500 while updating Facebook while the donkey pumps some more water into the bucket.
