...anti-government rhetoric and so on and the possibility of violence?

As vile a person as she is, who ever asked that leading question is just as culpable. There hasn't been the slightest hint of violence at any of the tea parties or demonstrations. People are angry and rightfully so, but it hardly rises to the level of violence. The only hint of violence has been from the night-stick carrying red-shirted Acorn thugs.

Harvey Milk and Moscone were killed by a deranged twinkie-eating misfit and had nothing to do with the public discourse at the time. There's a whole segment of society that believe Oliver Stone's version of the Kennedy assassination and now they're affected by Sean Penn's portrayal of Milk. Those are movies folks - they're fiction. They never pretended to be documentaries. Gawd, people are stupid.
