The much more likely form of rationing (restricting what the government will pay for), doesn't have to reduce freedom or even reduce coverage

But those who argue loudly that you are killing granny if you ration (don't cover everything) are from the right. Those who argue that you are killing granny if you don't force a state's carriers to cover everything are from the left. Each is arguing for greater coverage which means greater expense.

The right is trying to deregulate state insurance and also fussing about death squads, maybe not the same folks but both from the right.
