"Did anyone stop him from going into Georgia ?" Bush didn't, no.... (And, why would he go to war over it? Puttie suckered the Georgians into firing first, and shelling civilians... giving Russia a casus belli. Not to mention the little quibble that Georgia has historically been either within Russia's or Turkey's or Persia's zones of national influence. That and... they don't have much oil. ;-)
