Knighty, a law is meaningless without enforcement.

the demicans voted down enforcement at least twice - and the only reason for doing so is to PREVENT ENFORCEMENT and ALLOW THE LAW TO BECOME EFFECTIVELY NULL AND VOID.

i went over this before. the verbiage of an unenforced law is meaningless. meaningless. meaningless.

it is against the law to commit fraud, too. but it wasn't enforced against the bankers that did it. nor the mortgage companies. nor the ratings agencies.

in short, the law prevented nothing b/c it wasn't enforced.

this law was no different - and the demicans REFUSED ENFORCEMENT PROVISIONS. they did that b/c THEY DIDN'T WANT ENFORCEMENT of their own law! there is no other reason.

amazingly, after obama was called out on the national stage this became THE issue, NOW obama says he wants enforcement for a previously unenforced (by design) MEANINGLESS law.

as i said, i have no problem giving illegal immigrants health care as long as we get compensated from their country of origin (even if it is by reducing current payouts to said nation - as long as we can pretend to pay anyone money as those days are coming to an end).

again, relying on a purposefully unenforced law to make your argument that it would've been enforced is simply a very bad argument, imho.

if the republicrats tried this same "trick" to pass mislead the public to get one of their goals done you'd *instantly* understand the underlying fraud in the process.
