Look, inod, the nominees were asked to raise their hand if they believed in evolution. Half them said they didn't, inluding Romney and Huckabee. Evolution is not a friggen philosophy-lol.

Knowing evolution is a fact and is in the same category of facts as believeing the earth is round.

So surely you can see, it would not be prudent to electe a president who did not believe the earth is round. Or didn't believe in the holocaust. Huckabee made fun of people who think we evoled from primates.

Scientist know, flat out, that we did indeed evolve from primates. There is no disagreement between scientists about that. Our decending from primates is taught as fact at every nonn religous university in the world.

Besides, a simple look at them can tell a conscious person we are related to them for gods sake. They look and act just like us. To not see that takes some hefty blindness!

They can even measure the DNA differences between humans and chimpanzees for crying out loud, and they know which primates we are most closely related to us and even how far apart you and I are genetically.

And they even know, and teach in vitrualy every university how we came out of Africa and how we evolved in Africa, and that it started big time about 5 million years ago, and how far removed fom chimpanzee's and baboons we are.

The scientific comunity knows tons about our evolution from primates. I want a president that also knows about that. Not one living in some fantasy world. China and Russia are no fantasy and need to be dealt with by someon who can discern reality.

I think it is essential the most powerful person on earth know that stuff because it is friggen basic knowledge necessary for making diisions for the survival of our children.!

That is the point.

A ridiculous and totally IGNORANT statement. There was not a Republican candidate last time (or at anytime that I can recall) who doesn't "understand evolution". AFAIK, they just happen to have a different belief system than YOU do.

Mike Huckabee's response is about as eloquent as you can get:

Now, you can disagree with Huckabee. I do. But to argue that he "doesn't understand" evolution is f*cking stupid. The man understands it better than YOU ever will. I can't speak to the other two.<<
