Ray Clark is not going to be able to dispute the DNA evidence, so his only choice to beat the rap is to say Le's death was either self-defense or an accident, and that he hid her body because either he just panicked or was in a state of shock afterwards. I can't see how he can do this without taking the stand and telling some sort of story.

If this was an obsession case, we'll know by the number of text messages and emails he sent her. Because if this guy is a true "control freak" he will have sent similar messages to many others. If there's a disproportionate number sent to Le, it was his way to find an excuse to interact with her. The defense would then try to argue that it was because she was the most egregious offender. But unless these messages say things to that effect, e.g. "I've told you over and over, but..." and "Unlike your co-workers who follow the rules...", I can't see that being too persuasive to a jury.
