In the 50's and 60's the racists were thick as thieves. Rhenquist openly opposed the 1964 civil righs act as did many in the establishment. And his clerk was rabid about it.

The 1964 civil rights act was the defining moment for all good people to stand up for their party i.e. liberating the African Amerians from their bondage.

Anyone who voted agaisnt that bill is sure a racist my book. The great Ralph Yarborou sacrificed his senate seat to vote the right way.

1964 was the moment any and all sacrifies were to be made to win that battle as it had to be won.

Segregating African Americans like they were inferior and unclean was beneath contempt. Goldwater is to be forgiven for that vote?

I don't think so!
