He was probably offered a lot of money to defect. This system on a chip concept is interesting. It makes one realize that there is a fundamental shift in technolgoy coming. The next monitor that I buy will probably have the pc/tv/communications/web built in for $599. The next couple years will see the pc revolution all over again. The current technology is not easy to use or configure, but everyone needs to use pc technology, since there is no support staff after a decade of downsizing. The next technology will merge functionalities and add new ones. It might be that LSI five years out will be better than INTEL to own, but like, you, I'm more concerned right now with next quarter's results. One the software tools side I like IONA Technologies out of Dublin Ireland for the NEXT generation.
