My Iranian friend was a high level officer in the Revolutionary Guards who believed the Revolution was the best thing that ever happened to Iran because of the oppressive reign of the Shah. Then he saw the horrible things the mullahs did to the people, including his family and friends. It is as bad today as it was back then. These mullahs call themselves "clerics - religious people". They are greedy evil monsters. They are using a religion to suppress the people. They use Sharia Law to control them.

The Revolution was 30 years ago followed by the Iraq-Iran War that claimed hundreds of thousands of lives. There's never been an exact accounting because they rounded up 10-18 YO boys from the outlying poor towns and Afghanistan to use as land mine fodder wiping out a significant portion of that age group. They were never given any training nor did anyone keep track of who they were. Every male in the country was required to fight in that war.

Today, there are not many who remember the Revolution or the war. I saw a statistic recently (don't remember from where or the exact number) that purported that most Iranians are under 30. They are smart people. They have access to technology including the Internet (which the government continually tries to shut down).

Last Wednesday, my friend emailed me that his book recounting all the horror back then will be published by Simon & Shuster probably as early February.

It couldn't come at a better time. This thugocracy needs to be exposed for what it is.

As for our government trying to shut down the internet - ain't gonna happen. There's too many powerful people with a lot of their own money invested that won't let that happen.

"Skippy" LOL

He's getting some competition now for who's going to end up being the worst president ever.
