"Two years later, a long feature article, “What genes remember”, in Prospect Magazine stated [3]"

Neither Prospect Magazine is a good reference for such stuff. And this article, at best, is confused.

Neither Lysenkoism or Lamarckism is anywhere close to being accepted. Now, there are some who claim that a Lamarckian transfer of characteristics from one generation to the next can occur. But their data is sketchy, at best, and there are other, more conventional explanations for their observations. And there isn't even a hint of a mechanism that could do such a thing.

So, a D for effort on this one.
