I intended to ask, but found out reading later into the whole mystery whether Donald had filed a route plan with someone. Now I know he didn't, but if nothing else.......that would be a prudent thing to do. Like going hiking, and I know it isn't always possible, but to ride with a companion would be also prudent.

I have been on that exact route, and found it beautiful and enjoyed the scenery very much, but I was the passenger and note that the driver was commenting on the road and concentrating on driving as it was very windy and full of dangerous curves. Probably just the kind of road a person on a motorcycle loves?

And what a great legacy to leave to his fellow travelers. Many, many people have been touched by a perfect stranger. Who knows how many accidents the lesson he left will prevent?
