With regard to the "talking heads"--I was remembering a (not too clever) story.

Once upon a time a world-famous violinist was giving a concert in one of the great capitals of Europe. The concert hall was packed. In the middle of the performance wisps of smoke began to pour out from under the platform. A murmur of "fire" began to spread through the audience and some people got up and began making their way to the exits. The violinist stopped the performance and addressed the audience. "Dear people, dear people, do not be afraid. Everything is under control. Please settle back into your seats and I will try to reward your patience." So everyone calmed down, the violinist resumed playing with a vigor and beauty never heard before, the flames rose higher and higher, and he and the entire audience were burnt to a crisp.
