If you read about LTWC on their website they mention Bender's Camp Richardson Marina. In 1997, 1998 and 1999 I worked at that marina. My stepmother is mentioned as one of the original founders. The Millhams and our family took care of a lot of birds that first year. It was funny, Cheryl and my stepmom would be in the office of the marina feeding mush to birds while they rented out boats.

One time we had an orphaned raccoon for which my brother and I were tasked with caring. I'm not sure that letting two teenage boys care for a raccoon was necessarily the best decision but he was finally released when he got older.

The dedication and care that the Milhams have shown to the injured and orphaned animals is truly amazing. They are considered the premier wildlife care organization for pretty much all of california and Nevada.

there was another bear who burned his feet in the Angora fire up in Lake Tahoe that LTWC also took care of. My sister lost her home in that fire.
