Taking a medical malpractice case to court is extremely expensive. Lawyers do not accept bogus cases because they would quickly go broke is they did so.

Do you live in some fantasy world?

Of course ACTUALLY going to court is expensive, but the insurance companies always attempt to settle long before they get there. It's like blackmail and far cheaper to settle quickly than to go to court - plenty of shabby lawyers around doing this.

I never really thought people were such scammers until my wife got in a car accident that did $1,000 in damage to her car a scratch and the other car had no damage it was about 5 mph in an intersection and no one was hurt. A year later my insurance agent said the claim had been settled for $11,500 due to the other drivers medical issues. What the F*ck are you talking about I said - she had no injures, you'd get hurt more falling down - no court just letters on legal letterhead - not exactly expensive to conduct business/extortion this way.

The medical industry is awash in these types of frivolous lawsuits that never get to court. Then when they do get to court juries award ridiculous amounts of money in some cases that are simply stunning - like the millions for cancer victims related to smoking.

If this pinhead president actually believed in capitalism and free markets he'd do something to help us insurance buyers by making frivolous lawsuits hard to bring thus cutting our costs and actually helping us. Or was he planning to do this after we start suing the government health care system instead of an evil insurance company?
