The Naked Shorters were part of the reason the market went down Which market? Maybe some isolated cases with OTCBB stocks, but I'm pretty sure that the tech bubble would have imploded all on its own without shorting...naked or otherwise. The "market" imploded because it was built on a house of cards without a strong fundamental foundation. The reason the market went down was because it went up too far too fast and there was no fundamental reason for the market to be where it was.
