We obviously agree that self-development should never take a back seat. As to Al Gore, if I thought he had absolutely anything to do with the credible science underpinning climate change analysis I would agree - but he does not have anything to do with the science. Literally hundreds of the worlds leading geosphere-biosphere scientists have been working together on this for decades. They want zero, zip, nada to do with politics and policy. They hate that end of the stick and avoid it like crazy. But what they got to the point where there was little doubt about the major contours of climate change, and as they came to understand the seriousness of the impacts, they felt they had no choice but to join the effort to make the public aware. Al Gore is a cartoon character -- a distraction, and for some an excuse.

The hundreds of dedicated scientists who pooled their time and talents for decades now face the idiots who want us to believe that your local weatherman can give you valuable insight into the credibility of climate change research -- and being ignorant of science in general, and skeptical of anything that would require change, the path of least resistance is to scream "hoax', and blame it on Al Gore and the Commies.

As for me I am rethinking how I live -- hope to act in new ways soon.
