<reasoned disagreement by scientists> Again -- you don't seem to grasp the scale or integration of the effort that went into climate science for the past 25 years. Twenty five years ago it was recognized that the only way to work through the multidisciplinary complexity of the science of climate change was to work together with a vast pool of underlying disciplines and data -- and that is exactly what they did. Of course you have disagreement in the scientific community -- duh. But on the other hand, the enormity of the integrated multi-decade study of climate change is virtually unprecedented in human history. And they went to great pains to NOT politicize it because they saw how easy and tragic it would be if that happened -- and that is why you read nothing in 1998 in the public arena -- they kept their mouths shut until they were fairly sure. Now they are more willing to speak up -- although they continue to deplore the circus atmosphere that goes along with politics. Most of what we now see is the circus -- and the circus is exactly what it is from a scientific viewpoint -- it is a sideshow of freaks. On the other hand, the science is there and we have little choice but to move forward -- or fail to move forward as so many would prefer. If you cannot bring yourself to be part of the solution at least have the courtesy to get the hell out of the way.
