99% of the world does not live off the grid. That does not make those who are on the grid too fat and happy to change their views. The first step is to accept that America can be part of the solution instead of being the center of the problem. Being off the grid is great -- now lets talk about the other 99.9% of America and how real change takes place across the board and in every corner of the world. having fifty people live off the grid won't cut it.

And before I forget to answer your question - I do not live off the grid -- far from it.
