RW, by the time I retire, either I see a 30% cut in my SS benefits or the SS payroll tax will rise 43% (5.375 percentage points).

That's assuming nothing is done in the mean time. If Bush hadn't come up with the unworkable privatization scheme we might have had a solution 6 years ago.
