You forget that Apple computers are used in film and TV markets as well as in many research labs, academic and business.

People in those markets are going to spend a lot more time agonizing over their storage system solution than their Apple PC choice, and will spend more time talking to storage system providers than talking to Apple.

If computers were still high tech in a meaningful sense, Apple wouldn't be able to contract them out to any number of Taiwanese or Mainland generic factories.

From user perspective, the iPhone is a straight-up gadget. And that's a Good Thing!

A computer in your hand is hardly a gadget.

Flat out disagree. That's a perspective from the "old folks" generation. Watch the kids with these things and it is very clear these are straight-up gadgets.

And again, I view that as a Very Good Thing.
