I'm always a bit skeptical of criticisms that involve ascribing motive. If you don't have information about the decision process itself, and what went into it, I don't think it's logical to assume that you know about it.

You're right. I have no right to question the profit motive of why it is now impossible for me to replace a simple battery myself - yes that does void the warranty - in the entire lineup of MacBook Pros. How stupid of me.
