The link was interesting. What I took away from Glen Beck's comments is vastly different than your conclusion. Let me explain...

Asking for a definition of “White Culture” was asking a “loaded question.” After considering the venue, Mr. Beck recognized a question obviously designed for entrapment rather than issue clarification. Wisely Mr. Beck pointed out the intent of the question to Couric and declined to answer – all without obviously insulting Couric for her deceit. Such questions fall into the “define the universe and give two examples”-variety. When debating with the intellectually dishonest such questions are fraught with exception-type pitfalls. As such they are best ignored as Beck did.

With all that said, Beck may have seized the advantage using another tactic. There are several ways to honest answers to Couric’s question, any of which would have opened Beck to liberal attack since any response could be misconstrued as a racially inspired value judgment by the intellectually dishonest -- including Katie Couric.

You may feel Couric a tough interviewer and that is fine; but, others recognize her behavior as that of an agenda-impaired liberal working for a liberal network. Her intellectual dishonesty is worsened by her bogus claim of objectivity. What a contrast that is to Glen Beck who confesses his conservative values and professes his “rodeo-clown” status. As an illustrative example I would ask that you consider Couric’s tainted treatment of Sarah Palin. How shamelessly she purposely plucked “sound bites” from context for their embarrassment value.

Placed into the same position I might have attacked the issue in two ways and seized the moment. First when Couric alleged their interview would be unedited Beck might have pointed out her record hypocrisy with Sarah Palin. Masterfully Beck countered with such exquisite subtlety that it floated right over the audiences head. Couric didn’t miss it did she -- you noticed of course, how her comments and posture quickly shifted into defensive mode?

Second, he could have sited Black Liberation Theology as the defining benchmark and carried the argument to her.

Anyway, it was an interesting link... thanks.

Sorry for the physician confusion. :^)
