Beck used the term "white culture" and the perjorative that Obama disliked it or had trouble with it or whatever the quote was...He owned the words he used and he put them into the mainstream for discussion.

My comment on Couric's toughness was fully tongue in cheek. She is a patsy. A tougher interviewer would have called Beck on using a term that he refused to define, but seemed to be used only for stirring the pot. If words have meaning, as Obama learned when describing the Cambridge Police overreaction, then Glenn should realize it as well.

If Obama is a racist, as Beck claimed, and has problems with White culture, as Beck claims, then it is hardly too much to ask him to add context to what anyone would think were powerful statements. I hardly think Katie was capable of tricking him anymore than she did by asking Sarah Palin what she read (that part of the interview was not edited). She's not that good.

If Beck chooses to bring the phrase into the dialogue, it is hardly unreasonable to ask him to explain his theory beyond buzzwords.

But I think Beck lives on the buzz...pot stirring then stepping back and acting surprised that his words would upset anyone.
