There's huge leeway for forgiveness when you're all powerful and have eternity to get things resolved.

In that orininal Eden story, Adam tried to blame God for his misdeed. 'You gave me this woman and she tricked me into eating that forbidden fruit.' We can take that perspective on the rest of our story if we choose to.
