The status quo now is to just give it back to the bank or short sale it if you're underwater.

Do you actually think these banks can absorb those kind of losses without the backing of bailout money? Don't be surprised when the FEDs clean the banks losses of the balance sheet with one fell swoop as well.

Meanwhile, I have some swampland I'm looking to unload on a sucker. You interested? OTOH, the real suckers are those who didn't mortgage to the hilt.
