...and could not be more wrong. Most (all?) wealth is created when certain people take and accumulate the results of the work of others. By hook or crook, a capitalist accumulates capital that then does the work for him. He can continue to wheel and deal if it floats his boat, but the real work is being done by others.

You are right that it serves no one if no one works, but why should anyone object to reasonable work? Or for that matter, that there are a few slackers here and there? At the same time, nobody likes to see others get rich on their backs while they are barely surviving.

I hope you are not bringing this up as an argument against health reform (that providing everyone access to medical care is socialism, and thus, a bad thing.) If this be socialism, bring it on. As Elmatador says, the days of ISMs are over...
