Let's put it this way. 90% of Mass citizens had health insurance before the Romney plan. For most of those 90%, the only change has been the cost. Some of the excess cost was passed on to subscribers, but most is absorbed by businesses. For me, an employer who pays full cost for myself and for my employees, my premiums have risen over 50% during the past two years. Part of that is because of state mandated coverages, such as sex identity counseling and procedures (which were not in my plan prior to the state mandating it). The other major problem is scheduling. A fixed number of doctors have an increased number of patients, resulting in longer lead times for appointments and more crowded waiting rooms.
