And you are wrong about your utopian view of women. Except for a very very few examples where women had a little freedom, by and large, they were property for all of history. All over the world and in every country and culture. You seem to think you know the big picture, then tell me one large ccountry or religion in all of history prior to 100 years ago where women were treated equally? One!? There are none. >>The study of sociology and a look at history from other than the dominant Western perspective (Conquering, blood lust, and acquisition of real estate) provides a glimpse at some relatively innocent and harmonious cultures. Men and women don't always have to compete in the same venues to be equal. There are numerous examples of complimentary and equal where abusive conduct is nearly non-existent, I know you like it the way we have it now with nearly 100,000 rape and assault on women convictions in the US and probably many multiples of that which does not even get reported. Not to mention the fact that women have become grotesquely, aggressive themselves in the past couple of generations. Yeehaw buckaroo we've become equal in that while the afore mentioned path toward mutual destruction is alive and well. I speak only for my self ... conventional wisdom and authority be damned.
