Many live in metropolitan areas and may tend to be liberal. They actually had a breakdown for urban and rural... and yes the support % was slightly higher in urban areas... but not that much. Does this mean they are the most credible segment of the population to advise about a major political decision which will determine healthcare - and the role of Government - for generations to come? Dunno, you tell me.... Probably better than the general population. The other thing is they may presume that more people will be covered... which would be good for business. Still I was raised in a family of Docs, some politically active, and being against 'socialized medicine' was a 100% conviction. Things seem to have changed.
