Jorie is correct that the founders believe it, however he believes it himself. God only gave free will. The constitution itself grants rights and powers. It does not state that they come from God. Excuse me? I quoted the Declaration of Independence and the US Constitution. I didn't even use the word "God", I used the word "Creator". Which happens to be the word that the Declaration of Independence uses. Do I believe that individuals have inherent rights. Hell yes! Do I believe that a legitimate government's purpose is to protect those inherent rights? Hell yes! Perhaps you should give some examples of where the Constitution grants rights to individuals.
