Oh... I don't think that people are especially 'silent' about Afghanistan policy.

(Though they are rather busy right now with a couple of other really big public debates like the Health Care reform effort, recovery from the Great Recession, etc....)

No, I expect that Afghanistan is still on a pretty good 'boil', and that even more national attention will be focused on our policy choices there in very short order. (But it is easily still in the 'national top five' right now, as far as ALL the issues and ALL the problems/challenges that beset us. Never really left the 'top five' except for when we were turning our focus to Iraq....)
