That's because they have "free" employer provided health insurance. If they had to pay say $100k for a surgery they might not be so pleased with the "value". Or if they had to pay $13K annual out of pocket for insurance.

And somehow, "free" employer provided insurance is different from "free" government provided insurance?

I pay a lot more than $13K/year, and while I wish it was less, I think it is a fantastic value at that. If something happens to me I know I'm going to receive the best medical treatment available anywhere in the world. $13k is cheap for that, and so is the larger amount we pay.
