To get real change is probably going to take at least 5 election cycles. Even if the Dems lose their majority in 2010, it is doubtful that the Reps will change their spots when they acquire power. Until they get the message that they can't stay in power and continue their current games, we will not get real change. I have a close friend in Congress, I supported him his entire political career from Councilman to Congressman. Today he is not the person I supported. He has drunk the Kool Aid. I spoke to him about a week ago, and his position is that this whole thing will blow over and it is no big deal. I told him he has lost touch with his voters if he believes that, but he is on such a power trip, it was useless.
