Re: thread opinion

Contrary to popular belief, just because SI thread sentiment
gets bullish as a stock fall doesn't mean the stock has
further to fall. Look at all the semi threads in May and
June 1996. We had masses of people agreeing with each
other that the correction was overdone.

MUEI is oversold, has a good franchise, is winning all the
right awards, and is in general ignored by most people because
they don't even want to tackle the MU/MUEI issue. If/When it
breaks the 12 5/8 support, I'll re-evaluate --
for my next buy point. Look at the cashflows, the balance sheet,
the product quality -- things of beauty.

It's hard to imagine the sub-1000 market hurting Micron. Micron's
customers have always been the higher end. They've positioned
themselves as the best quality for higher prices. These sub-1000
systems are a joke -- has anyone really taken a look at what's
inside? Most of today's software would crawl. Margins should be
more resistant. Compaq's market share strategy is not a good one.
It will never monopolize the industry enough to be able to
single-handedly bump up prices in the future. Ironically, Micron's
brand name is as synonymous with quality as any PC manufacturer
out there.
