Here is how education helps. The brain is wired for pattern recognition, not logic. By the way computers are nto good at that. Tough.

We are not mean as much as compassionate. Our compassion for each other is how we beat the wild animlas larger than us by workgn together. We coudl even take out a giant cave bear or sabor tooth tiger. We were bad asses becasue we fougth together.

And when one of us got hurt, the tribe helped to heal them.

So we wallowed around in the swamps of our own animal inclinations for 100,000's thousands of years, UNTIL we discovered science.

Science gave us a way of knowing reality. When we are hallucinating some sort of nonsense, the samrt humans know they are hallucinating and apply science, rules of behavior which can measure the truth objectively and apply justice where needed.

We see the earth as flat, but it is round.

That is why we came out of the dark ages when we discovered science and the inductive method of proof which brought us into the "age of enlightenment".

>>The human species, by nature, is an irrational species."

"The ONLY chance we have to survive as a species is massive education."

These two statements seem to be at odds with one another. Why do you think it is even possible to educate people who are "by nature... irrational"?

As I see it, the biggest problem that Human Beings face is not that we are Irrational by nature, but that we are evil. "The heart wants what the heart wants" (Woody Allen)
