"I don't see why (according to your philosophy) there is a substantial difference between cows and people"

There ARE substantial differences. I have very little to gain from cows apart from killing them and eating them. But I can communicate with people and I can SHARE with people and we have a commonality that makes it SENSIBLE for most of us to choose rational sides. All life chooses sides (or "takes" sides by default (IF lacking rational "choice")--like, perhaps, a cow).

On the other hand, I SHARE much with cows: they are living; they do what they can to continue living; they have "values" (even if instinctive); they are composed of the universe and they return to the universe (like me); they eat too much and they do a lot of stuff out of habit.

So we are different (but apart)--"like most marriages".

A cow doesn't go to "heaven" or "Hell"...and neither do you or me (I use "me"). A cow goes to a barbecue--and eventually...SO DO YOU (OVER AND OVER AND OVER until the sun burns out and (probably) something else happens....!

BTW, I would gladly donate my body to a barbecue if society was advanced enough to accept such charity. But I don't think they are, eh??!!
