I'd agree but I think you're applying your version of birthers, not the left's version. They've pretty much been able to define it their way in the public domain [IE, a bunch of wild eyed, conspiracy mongering, tin-foil-hat wearing, red neck racists out for blood by any means necessary].

Notice how their warped view of birthers is precisely like the real deal truthers? Can you say projection?

So yes, it was humorous with the "basket bunch" as the real punching bag IMHO.
