Sure, of course we're more closely related to Ape or Chimp than Zerbra... but evolutionary biologists use the verbage I posted FWIW. The DON"T say "we evolved from chimps" or "we evolved from apes" although it is probably most commonly stated that way... this is simply because the apes or chimps we see today may not be the same species back when the split occured.
