Schedule A - anyone wanting to access a non-redacted copy can follow this process.

To see the heavily redacted Schedule A, go to www.sedar.com, click english, click search database, click Search Public Companies, type Allen-Vanguard in company name, set the from date to September 21, 2009, click search, click on the big file (734 K). This is the apparent financial breakdown of the deal - why would they want to hide that?

EDC and the Access to Information Act
The Access to Information Act is a federal statute that provides a process by which a:

* Canadian citizen,
* permanent resident,
* person physically in Canada, or
* corporation present in Canada

may request access to any record of certain institutions of the Federal government. These institutions, such as Export Development Canada, are required to provide access to records under their control upon receiving a formal request for information made pursuant to the Access to Information Act unless the records or portion thereof are exempted or excluded from disclosure.

Access to information requests may be submitted in the form of a letter, as long as it clearly outlines what documents are being sought. All requests must be accompanied by the $5 prescribed application fee. Payment may be in the form of a cheque or money order made payable to EDC.

EDC and the Privacy Act
EDC is subject to the Privacy Act, a federal statute that imposes obligations on certain institutions of the Federal government such as EDC to protect the privacy of individuals with respect to the collection, use and disclosure of personal information. Further, the legislation gives individuals the right to access and request correction of personal information about themselves held by these same institutions.
