10/2/09 update
Chalk up the second week in a row for the Bears. At Friday's close, the Nasdaq Composite Index was up 30.32% CYTD, or Contest Year To Date, (vs. up 33.04% CYTD a week ago), the Nasdaq Biotech Index was up 13.58% CYTD (vs. up 16.65% CYTD a week ago), while the Contest median closed up 16.86% CYTD (vs. up 23.46% CYTD a week ago).
The top three Contest rankings remained the same although the race for second place is extremely tight. The week's closing CYTD percentages are: RKRW up 125.19%, GENE up 73.50%, NIGEL up 73.23%.
At Friday's close, 25 of the 32 Contest portfolios were in the black and 18 of the 32 were beating the NBI.
Portfolio adjustments:
1) CRGN merges with CLDX with .2739 shares of CLDX exchanged for each CRGN share
2) NFLDQ goes bankrupt & suspends trading; I set its value at $0
Have a terrific weekend biotechies!
