Interesting. And this is just from experience, and not quite the same... Roscoe had his spot in the basement he would lie most the time when down there with dad. it was his spot. and the last few weeks after his hips went and we were keeping him as comfy as could we could and ... waiting... well. he didn't move from it much. that was a hard time for Puppy. She would nudge him and he couldn't respond much. it was hard on him, too...

anyways... it was weeks after before she would come into the basement. she'd come down the stairs, then stop and look at his spot, and up at me, and cringe. and i'd take her back up the stairs and 'talk' with with her a bit.

she knew his spot. and that he was gone.

so, yes... the scent in the toys and things... a connection. and maybe some time before that scent is gone...

I spent a lil extra time with Puppy tonight after she went to her big pillow for bedtime, remembering it was hard on her. she says thank you to you. :)
