Having a hand gun in the house introduces many risks, no doubt. Probably the most concerning item for me is returning home to find intruders with my gun. In the days after 9/11 I decided being able to defend my home while the police were thoroughly occupied somewhere else outweighed the risks. In the event of some event there may be many people flushed out of the cities into desirable neighborhoods who wont want to share your house with you. I want to see the statistics on what home security would be if only criminals had guns.
