I think so, since the flu shot is trying to mimic the flu virus and trick the body into producing antibodies againts the flu, but is not always so effective at doing so, which is one of the reasons the flu shot is in the 70% to 80% effective range for preventing the flu. The real flu will cause your body to create atrong antibodies, which is why once you've had it, you will not get it again, unless it mutates significantly.

I am actually wondering if I had a mild case of the swine flu this past week? I had a strong cold that went into my chest in a most unusal manner, causing a cough and sore throat. Is there a blood test that a Dr. can order to test for the swine flu antibodies? I'd rather avoid the vaccine shot.
