Investor2,

Learning Tommy's stuff by ear would require a great deal of time, and the vast majority are way too far out of my reach. I picked apart a few of the easier ones (like, "a Taste of Honey", "Amy"), but 99% of the time I'm using someone's arrangement. His stuff can be so difficult, and having the music in tab and standard notation can bring the impossible within reach. I would have never been able to figure out that syncopated stuff in, "Since We Met", without the precise count to play the stuff against the beat.

The most comprehensive and accurate Tommy arrangements on the net.

If you are not a fingerpicker already, I would suggest starting with some Juber or Huttlinger arrangements. Juber, IMO, is a superb arranger. He has prepared many of his own arrangements. There are a couple books available, but you have to hunt for them. The one with his version of, "Strawberry Fields Forever" is worth twice the price just for that amazing arrangement. Juber arranges most in DADGAD, and IMO, this is a somewhat easier tuning to grab a wide tonal range with fingerstyle. Deeper lows and a wider internals for some of the strings. If you can't find them and are interested, PM me and I help locate them.

Huttlinger is an impressive teacher. He has a whole series of DVD's on the Homespun brand. Highly recommended. Again, if you want specific titles, PM me and I'll make a list. Get the one with, "Catch and Release". That is a such a fun tune and I love how he plays those acceding lines on the upbeat.
