The data that I have seen does suggest that McAfee is outselling Symantec in the anti-virus arena by a significant margin that continues to widen. I happen to know that the June sell through numbers from Ingram Micro show that McAfee's Virusscan sold through 34,077 units, while Symantec only sold through 22,464 units. Based on those numbers, McAfee is outselling Symantec by over 50%. The Ingram numbers only shows units sold through distribution, which is a lot of Symantec's business. McAfee sells more than twice as much product through their direct sales organization, as they do through their channels organization. Since most of Symantec's business goes through the channel, I can only assume that McAfee is outselling Symantec by even more than 50% on the direct side.

Hope that helps.
