Well, we do take perspective and rightly or wrongly we do attribute a value to human beings. What do we call a brutalized woman who's only choice to survive is unrewarding servitude, who eats when and what she is told to eat, who has no effective control over her depressing life, who's children... if any are aloud to live, live in squalor and will never know opportunity. A woman who will likely not know her own progeny passed the current generation. No family, no kin beyond the here and now, where she is the last of her generations for all practical purposes. What do we say when this is a typical cultural descriptor, the norm?
